Set limits before you place a bet
A short responsible-gambling plan
Decide first whether betting is something you want to do. It is not a way to earn income or recover money you have lost.
- Set a loss limit. Choose an amount from genuinely discretionary money that you can lose without affecting bills, food, school costs, transport, savings, or people who depend on you. Stop when that amount is reached.
- Set a time limit. Choose when the session ends before it begins. A timer can help you notice when a short activity is stretching longer than planned.
- Do not chase losses. A new bet cannot undo an earlier result. Do not increase stakes, borrow, or make another deposit to try to recover a loss.
- Take a break if your mood changes. Do not gamble when upset, exhausted, under the influence, or under pressure from someone else.
- Use available limits or self-exclusion. Check the operator’s current responsible-gambling tools and keep a record of any request and confirmation. If you feel unable to stop, step away and speak with someone you trust or seek local professional support.
The Gaming Board of Tanzania’s responsible-gaming guidance says gaming is for adults and should remain entertainment, not a source of income. For a Tanzania-specific overview of limits and stopping options, see this responsible gambling guide for Tanzania. It is an independent guide with commercial links; it does not replace the regulator’s guidance or the operator’s current terms.
18+ only. If the activity is causing financial, emotional, or relationship harm, stop rather than trying to win it back.
